FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CARE Dallas Names John Campbell as President-Elect

Dallas, Texas — CARE Dallas is pleased to announce the appointment of John Campbell, LCSW, as President-Elect of the Board of Directors. Campbell will assume the role of Board President following the completion of Julie Stevenson’s distinguished term. This leadership transition reinforces the organization’s continued commitment to strengthening substance-use prevention, mental health education, and family-focused support throughout North Texas.

A Dallas native, Campbell brings a personal and professional depth uniquely aligned with the mission of CARE Dallas. Having overcome drug and alcohol addiction as a young adult, Campbell has maintained sobriety since 2008—an achievement that shaped his dedication to supporting others on similar journeys. His early work in the field, beginning as an overnight technician at a treatment center in 2009, sparked a career grounded in compassion, clinical excellence, and service.

Campbell earned his Bachelor of Arts from Southeastern Louisiana University and his Master of Science in Social Work from Louisiana State University. His professional experience spans a wide range of clinical and leadership roles, including nearly ten years as Clinical Director at Powerhouse Services in Baton Rouge and prior work as a Case Manager at St. Clare Psychiatric Hospital.

He later co-founded Casa Colina Treatment Center, serving as CEO and establishing a nationwide network of trusted partnerships in addiction and mental health treatment. In 2022, Campbell launched Campbell Recovery Services, where he continues to provide direct clinical support to individuals and families pursuing long-term recovery.

Campbell is a Licensed Clinical Social WorkerLicensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and a Nationally Certified Intervention Professional. He also holds advanced clinical training in addiction treatment, trauma recovery, couples therapy, and evidence-based modalities including Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Psychodrama, and the Gottman Method.

As President-Elect, Campbell will collaborate closely with outgoing President Julie Stevenson to ensure a seamless transition. Stevenson’s leadership has played an essential role in positioning CARE Dallas for its current momentum and expansion. The organization expresses its sincere appreciation for her dedication and service.

Executive Director Clint Carlton, who joined CARE Dallas just over six months ago and emphasized his long-term vision in his introductory press release, shared his strong support for Campbell’s appointment:

“John represents the very best of what CARE Dallas stands for. His personal journey, professional expertise, and genuine passion for serving families makes him an exceptional leader for this next chapter. Julie’s contributions have strengthened our foundation, and we are deeply grateful for her service. As John steps into this role, I am confident we will expand our reach and broaden our impact across Dallas–Fort Worth. We are honored to welcome him as President-Elect.”

— Clint Carlton, Executive Director, CARE Dallas

CARE Dallas looks forward to the continued growth of its mission under John Campbell’s leadership and anticipates a seamless transition as he prepares to assume the presidency.
